Welcome to "SIMPLY SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS" - July 8, 2009: ==================================================== Helping You Create What Matters MOST in Life and Work -- With Whatever Life Throws At You! --------------------------------------------------------------------
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. -- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Hi All, A little blessed rain the last few days that's making the gardens very happy.
It's interesting that most of us want the long stretched of sunny, warm days, but unless we also want dead gardens and burning forests, we have to have a little rain, too. So, I think it's best to be grateful for both the sun and the rain. It's the way the Earth works.
Two other things that might not seem to go together at first are "vision" and "gratitude". Vision is about imagining what you truly want in your life, work, relationships, etc… and taking action to bring it into being.
Gratitude is enjoying what you already have, appreciating what is and what happens.
There is no conflict between these two. It's perfectly possible love what you have and want to create something that you don't yet have. Imagine a writer, living a sufficient and comfortable writer's life, happy and content with what s/he has.
Then imagine that writer getting a killer idea, one that s/he just has to reach out to and wrestle into words. S/he can be grateful for what s/he has and desirous of crafting a new and engaging book to share with the world.
Indeed, the more grateful you are for what you have, the easier it is for you to create what you truly want. If you appreciate your current reality, you are more likely to see it just as it is. You are less likely to distort it by focusing on "issues" or "problems" or other diversions. Your whole focus can go to envisioning and creating what you truly want.
I recommend that as well as practicing vision, it also helps to practice gratitude, and to give thanks for what you already have. You'll see that the two complement each other, and creating what you want will become simpler, easier, and more enjoyable. -------------

This Weeks Quotes: ================================ VISION:
A vision without a task is but a dream. A task without a vision is drudgery. A task with a vision is the hope of the world -- Inscription on a church in Sussex, England circa 173
“When you see what you’re here for, the world begins to mirror your purpose in a magical way. It’s almost as if you suddenly find yourself on stage in a play that was written expressly for you.” -- Betty Sue Flowers
"The road to happiness lies in two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it, put your whole soul into it -- every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have." -- John D. Rockefeller III
GRATITUDE:
"Being grateful. That's the first step to the path of Joy." -- Sarah Ban Breathnach
"What you put out comes back. The more you sincerely appreciate life from the heart, the more the magnetic energy of appreciation attracts fulfilling life experiences to you, both personally and professionally." - - Doc Childre and Sara Paddison
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." -- Melody Beattie -------------
What truly matters to you? What are you grateful for? Are you happy and content with what you have and, yet, are excited about creating something new and wonderful? Need some help?
I fully support your article. You present a very valuable lesson; one that I had to learn the hard way! I tried the ‘be happy’ prescription some years ago, and now when I look back I can see how I was holding myself back by denying the unhappiness underneath it all. Like you said, I was going down ‘with a smile on my face’ ! Hence, the relief I felt the first time I released my unhappy emotion, and when I started inquiring my emotions instead of judging them. Looking Forward to more good stuff
I've heard about a media player that helps to shape your positive emotions, it could be a solution to fight what you call deadly emotions while it plays your favorites music and videos, the site is http://www.emoplayer.com but it's just by invite I've been told that the best way to get it it's to follow them on Twitter and you may receive and invite…….
